FAQs

Product

How do I find the size of my tyre?

You can find the size of your tyre on the sidewall. If the sidewall is too scrubbed and the numbers are illegible, check the manufacturers manual to find the factory size.

What number is the rim size?

In most cases, the last one or two digits of a tyre size are the rim size. For example, a 25x10.00-12 will have a 12” rim as the last two digits are the number 12.

I don’t understand my tyre size. Can you please explain?

Tyre sizes can be a little confusing.
Most mower, small skid steers and ATV tyres will have the size written similar to this example: 15x6.00-6. The 15 refers to the height of the tyre, the 6.00 refers to the width and the 6 refers to the rim size. These numbers are all measured in inches.

Tractor, boat trailer, wheelbarrow and trolley tyres are written in a different format.

As an example, the tractor size 7.50-16 is indicating that the 7.50 refers to the width of the tyre and the 16 refers to the rim size.

Boat trailer, wheelbarrow and trolley tyres will often have two numbers at the start with a slash separating them, such as the 4.80/4.00-8. This means that it is a tyre that is a multi-fit size and can fit any 8-inch rim with the numbers 4.00 up to 4.80 stamped on the tyre. Meaning if you have a 4.50-8 tyre for example, you can use the 4.80/4.00-8 tyre as an alternative size. The same applies for trolley and wheelbarrow tyres.

The last number on a size is always going to be the rim size of the tyre.

What does NHS mean?

NHS stands for Non-Highway Service. This means that the tyre is not suitable to be used on asphalt or tarsealed roads. Tyres with NHS written on the sidewall are simply not made to handle the heat that builds up when a tyre is driven at higher speeds and longer durations on sealed roads.

What does PR mean?

PR stands for Ply Rating. The ply rating helps to identify the load carrying capacity of a tyre in terms of plies.
